Kicking it up a notch

Isn't it funny how we all get inspired to finish home improvement projects when we have guests coming to visit? Or, maybe it's wanting to finish these projects is what invites the guest to come in the first place? Whatever it is, let's just say inspiration struck tonight as I completed round one of painting my entryway. The idea has only been in my head for months and the paint supplies sitting in my family room for a week but tonight was the night! I knocked it out in about 3.5 hours so go me : )

What's the occasion you say? My boyfriend's brother, sister-in-law and two nieces are flying in from Boston for Memorial Day weekend. Thinking it would be fun for them to meet some Columbus friends, I decided "Let's have a cookout! I can host it at my place!" Well, home improvement projects here I come since tonight the cookout became a reality. Next up, ripping out the ugly bushes out back. Oh and listening to the Avett Brothers music so I can be well-versed when I go to the concert that weekend with them (the other reason they are coming to town.)
