hope deferred
We spend most of our lives hoping for fun and exciting things to happen. Then when something fun and exciting does happen that potentially could last a while but there's no guarantee, there's this internal struggle about how excited to get. Do you get excited about what may be or do you stay reserved and non-emotional because you know what may not be? It's tough. I don't know the answer.
I guess the politically correct answer is "to just go with it," "stay in the moment" and "enjoy each day." Those are all well and good, and probably accurate, but the female mind tends to wander past the present day which is where the struggle comes in. I guess for right now, I'll just be happy that fun and exciting things are going on since that's exciting. And, of course, hope for the best.... : )
