Things you can get away with
When you're "older" you can get away with things that no other age group can. (Older is defined as the age where either you do these things and/or you do them and can get away with them.) The following fall into this category:
1. When you see someone you haven't seen them in a while, your first few words to the person are "Have you gained weight? You look heavier...." (thankfully this comment was not directed at me!)
2. You can wear white shorts, white athletic socks and black dress shoes and go outside your house wearing them.
3. You can tell your black (African American) worker at your assisted living facility that after your recent fall, you bottom is now "black" like theirs....
